Academy Training and Teaching. 1. Police academy training and teaching is addressed in one of the following methods, depending upon the duration of the training, the location of the training and the scheduled hours. 2. When a sergeant attends a single or multiple day training program, less than one week, the sergeant will be scheduled for a twelve hour tour of duty for the day of the training.
