Accrual of Regular Benefits. Sick leave and vacation leave shall be accrued by an employee while on temporary disability arising out of and in the course of employment. The City will continue to pay the employer share of Health Insurance Costs and pension contributions throughout the injury period. The employee will continue to be responsible for his/her employee portion of Health Insurance Costs and pension contributions during this period. If it is deemed the employee is permanently disabled and will not be able to return to his/her normal work duties all sick leave and vacation leave accruals will cease.
