Common use of Additional Needs Clause in Contracts

Additional Needs. At Skool Is Out we are committed to offering support for children of all abilities and needs. Prior to registration we request parents/carers identify any additional needs your child/ren may have, or any support they may require, in advance of commencing after school or holiday care with us. This enables us to ensure reasonable adjustments can be made and that appropriate levels of support are in place to ensure each child’s individual needs can be met, where possible. We will require a detailed Care Plan to be completed for each child in advance of commencing childcare, and this is completed collaboratively between senior after school club staff and parents/carers. We may also liaise with the child’s school to ensure consistency of approach and that appropriate support measures are in place. If deemed necessary after further assessment, we can seek funding and guidance from Capability Scotland’s Edinburgh Childcare 4 All initiative, in order to provide additional needs support to identified children to ensure their inclusion in our club environments. If a child requires this level of support we will work with parents/carers, as well as Capability Scotland, to put into place a Care Plan specific to the needs of the child. The level of support required varies from child to child, and it is important that all children’s additional needs are considered individually so that the appropriate level of support can be provided, where possible. Skool Is Out works closely with local schools and Capability Scotland to implement any necessary provisions to ensure that, wherever possible, children with disabilities or additional support needs can participate fully in the life of the club. Please be aware that there may be some circumstances whereby we are unable to ensure the appropriate levels of support are in place, depending on individual children’s defined care needs and our ability as a childcare provider to meet these. The wellbeing of the children in our care is our number one priority. Skool Is Out will always seek to exhaust all options and make reasonable adjustments to accommodate all children within our after school and holiday club environments, wherever possible. As per our organisation’s policies and procedures, we request that all initial after school care fees are paid in advance of childcare by the date indicated on your fee invoice, and that subsequent fees are paid by the 1st of each month for the remainder of the academic year. Childcare fees are spread across 11 months (or the remaining number of months in the academic calendar, if your child commences mid-year), with instalments due on the 1st of each month (or in advance of childcare if children commence after the 1st of the month). From August 2023 we will offer a 7 day grace period for payments of fees; all fees must reach our account by the 7th of the month at the latest to avoid incurring our late fee surcharge (details below). Please ensure you take our payment deadline into account when setting up payments, particularly if paying via childcare voucher or the government Tax Free Childcare scheme, as these payments can take up- to 5 days to process and reach our account. Our holiday care is optional and is billed separately and payments should be made within three days of booking. If parents/carers require ad-hoc out of school care (subject to availability) fees should be paid on a pay-as-you-go basis and in advance of childcare. Any future changes to fee payment dates and/or structures will be communicated separately. Please be aware that you cannot swap the days you have booked for either after school care or holiday care, as staffing of the clubs is arranged in advance and is determined by the number of children attending. Fees are still due even if your child is absent for any reason, including illness, any infectious illness, absent due to isolation/quarantine, or if the club is closed for any reason out-with our control, such as severe inclement weather or emergency school closure. We request that childcare fees are paid by either bank transfer/standing order, childcare voucher, or through the Government’s Tax Free Childcare scheme. Please make sure you indicate when you register with us your preferred method for paying your fees, and notify us of any changes where necessary. We do not accept payments by cash or cheque and do not currently have the facility to accept card payments.
