Additional Preparation Time Clause Samples

The 'Additional Preparation Time' clause grants a party extra time to prepare for a specific obligation or event under the agreement. This may apply, for example, if unforeseen circumstances delay a party’s ability to meet a deadline, such as preparing documents, products, or services. By formally allowing for an extension, the clause helps prevent breaches due to factors outside a party’s control and ensures that both parties have adequate time to fulfill their responsibilities, thereby promoting fairness and reducing the risk of disputes.
Additional Preparation Time. A teacher in an intermediate, middle or senior high school with an enrollment of five hundred (500) or less may be granted additional preparation time if the teacher has more than two (2) academic levels and two (2) subject matter fields as provided in Article VI, Section F - Subject Matter and Grade Level, subject to the approval of the CAS.
Additional Preparation Time. If a teacher has five (5) classes with different preparations each day, s/he will be entitled to two (2) periods of unassigned preparation time. A class with different preparation is one in which either one or both of the following occur: (1) a class with a different class title or (2) a class that requires the use of significantly different instructional materials than are used in the teacher's other class assignments and meets in different class periods. For this section a period describes a block of time of approximately fifty (50) minutes in length. A change in the length of a period or the number of periods in a day can be made only after the principal has met with teacher representatives as appointed by the LSHEA to discuss the rationale of the proposed changes. Should any teacher voluntarily agree to exceed any of the above stated limitations such agreement shall be with the consent of the teacher and shall not be construed as setting a precedent for future considerations.
Additional Preparation Time. Elementary teachers are expected to schedule class time to take care of their students' physical needs. Teachers may, if they desire additional preparation time, and where it does not interfere with scheduled language arts and math blocks, schedule common physical activity periods during which only one (1) teacher shall be required to supervise every three (3) classes. However, in no instance shall an elementary teacher's total preparation time (50 minutes daily) plus released time due to scheduling common physical activity periods exceed five (5) hours and fifteen (15) minutes per week.
Additional Preparation Time. Unit members shall receive additional preparation time as follows: 19.2.1 A unit member shall receive during the current semester, at the option of the Five Keys Schools and Programs, either one (1) day of preparation time within the unit member’s regular work day or one (1) additional day of pay at the unit member’s daily rate whenever the unit member is assigned to teach a class for the following semester that meets one or more of the following conditions: 19.2.1.1 The unit member has not previously taught the class for the Five Keys Schools and Programs; or 19.2.1.2 The class involves a significant curriculum revision approved by the Director of Education.
