Administration of Policy. a. In the administration of Article VII, Section A, Paragraphs 1, 2, 3, and 4, the following may be allowed by the Superintendent or his/her representative upon request by the employee: If an employee presents an approvable request for absence for "personal business" and If, at that point the employee has exhausted the three (3) day allowance for "personal business"; and If the employee has been granted fewer than ten (10) days total leave under the provisions of Article VII, Section A, Parts 1, 2, and 3; then the "personal business" request may be approved except that: No more than one (1) day will be allowed for the death of each close friend or college graduation of self or certain close relatives except as noted in Article VII, Section 4, and Part 4.b.i. b. Absences other than approvable emergencies which have not been authorized in advance will result in loss of pay. c. A request for absence for "personal business" shall be submitted in writing to the Superintendent or his/her representative.
