Administration of Schools. The determination and administration of school policy, the operation and management of the schools, and the direction of employees are vested exclusively in the Upper Dauphin Area School Board of Directors and its delegated management personnel. The adoption of policies, rules, regulations, and practices in furtherance thereof, and the use of judgment and discretion in connection therewith shall be limited only to the specific and express terms of this AGREEMENT and then only to the extent such specific and express terms hereof are in conformance with the Constitution and laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Constitution and laws of the United States. It is recognized that the Board has and will continue to retain, whether exercised or not, the sole and unquestioned right, responsibility and prerogative to direct the operation of the public schools in the Upper Dauphin Area School District in all of its aspects, including but not limited to the following: To maintain public elementary and secondary schools and such other educational activities as in its judgment will best serve the interests of the Upper Dauphin Area School District to give the children of said District as nearly equal advantages as may be practicable; to decide the need for school facilities; to determine the care, maintenance and operation of buildings, lands, apparatus and other property used for school purposes; to determine the number, age and qualifications of the pupils to be admitted into each school; to employ, assign and transfer teachers; to suspend or dismiss the teachers of the schools in the manner provided by statute; to designate the schools which shall be attended by the various children within the School District; to make such provisions as will enable each child of school age residing in the School District to attend school for the period required by law and provide for the transportation of children wherever it is reasonable and desirable; to prescribe rules for the management, studies, classification and discipline for the public schools; to decide the textbooks to be used, to make rules for the arrangement, use and safe-keeping of the school libraries and to approve the books selected therefore; to approve plans for school buildings; to prepare a budget, expend monies for the maintenance of the schools, and make such transfers of funds within the budget as it shall deem desirable; and to determine the functions and programs; standards of service and utiliz...
Administration of Schools. The administration of school policy and establishment of a budget are accomplished by the COMMITTEE pursuant to M.G.L. c. 71 § 37, and the operation and management of the schools, and the direction of employees, shall be through the SUPERINTENDENT, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 71 § 59 and related provisions. The parties hereto agree that:
Administration of Schools. The Superintendent shall, subject to the supervision and authority of the School Board and its successors, serve as Superintendent for the District performing those duties as set forth in the Public School Code, other applicable laws and regulations, Board policy of the District as the same may be amended from time to time, and such other duties and responsibilities as normally apply to such a position and as may be assigned to the Superintendent from time to time by the School Board.
Administration of Schools. Superintendent shall devote his/her full time efforts the duties of the office of Superintendent of Schools. Superintendent shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of District and shall have powers and obligations to perform the duties and responsibilities for this position including but not limited to those: (a) Set forth in the laws; rules and regulations of the State of Oregon, including any amendments or successor statutes, rules or regulations thereto; (b) Specified in this Agreement and such other duties as the Board may determine from time to time; (c) Specified in the District's job description for Superintendent of Schools that is maintained in the Human Resources Department, as amended from time to time; and (d) Specified in the Board’s Superintendent Selection Criteria, including, but not limited to: (i) ensuring that the entire school district works effectively to improve achievement for all students, regardless of their circumstances; (ii) taking an active leadership role in the city, state and region on funding, infrastructure and other education-related issues; (iii) proactively engaging students, teachers, principals, support staff, local governments, education-related organizations, minority representatives, the business community, and various community stakeholders in authentic dialogue and partnerships both to implement current initiatives and to develop future strategies; and (iv) ensuring fiscal responsibility ·and operational oversight that assures accountability for results at all levels.
Administration of Schools. Superintendent shall devote his full time and best efforts to the duties of the office of Superintendent of Schools. Superintendent shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of District and shall have powers and obligations to perform the duties and responsibilities for this position including but not limited to: (a) Set forth in the laws, rules and regulations of the State of Oregon, including any amendments or successor statutes, rules or regulations thereto; (b) Specified in this Agreement and such other duties as the Board may determine from time to time; and (c) Specified in the District’s job description for Superintendent of Schools that is maintained in the Human Resources Department as outlined in District policies which may be amended from time to time.
Administration of Schools. The administration of school policy, the operation and management of the schools, and the direction of employees shall be through the Superintendent. The parties hereto agree that: (a) The Superintendent shall furnish recommendations to the Board of School Directors on matters having to do with selection, appointment, assignment, transfer, promotion, organization, reorganization, reduction, or termination of personnel employed or to be employed by the School District. (b) In accordance with applicable law, the Superintendent shall have a seat at the Board table and the right to speak on all issues before the Board of School Directors. The Superintendent and/or his designee(s) shall have the right to attend all regular and special meetings of the Board of School Directors and all committee meetings thereof, excepting those relating to his own employment and the Superintendent and/or his designee shall serve as advisor to the Board on matters affecting the School District. (c) Exercising administrative responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of the School District’s physical plant and facilities, of its supportive and auxiliary functions, and of effective communications within the school system, and for the direction and impact of community and public relations programs; (d) Criticisms, complaints, and suggestions called to the attention of the School District may be referred to the Superintendent for study, disposition or recommendation as appropriate. (e) The Superintendent shall be responsible for the administration of the school district under the authority of the Board and subject to the policies and procedures adopted by the Board and as authorized by the Public School Code of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania The Superintendent further agrees to execute the policies and directives of the Board and perform all of the duties of the Superintendent as set forth in Section 1081 of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, and as outlined in this Agreement, the performance evaluation criteria and job description as may be adopted and amended from time to time by the Board in accordance with the highest standards of the profession of the Office of Superintendent of a public school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Related to Administration of Schools

  • ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION CONTRACTOR shall comply with the requirements of California Education Code section 49423 when CONTRACTOR serves a student that is required to take prescription and/or over-the-counter medication during the school day. CONTRACTOR may designate personnel to assist the student with the administration of such medication after the student’s parent(s) provides to CONTRACTOR: (a) a written statement from a physician detailing the type, administration method, amount, and time schedules by which such medication shall be taken; and (b) a written statement from the student’s parent(s) granting CONTRACTOR permission to administer medication(s) as specified in the physician’s statement. CONTRACTOR shall maintain, and provide to LEA upon request, copies of such written statements. CONTRACTOR shall maintain a written log for each student to whom medication is administered. Such written log shall specify the student’s name; the type of medication; the date, time, and amount of each administration; and the name of CONTRACTOR’s employee who administered the medication. CONTRACTOR maintains full responsibility for assuring appropriate staff training in the administration of such medication consistent with physician’s written orders. Any change in medication type, administration method, amount or schedule must be authorized by both a licensed physician and parent.

  • Administration of Agreement All approvals referenced in this Agreement must be obtained from the parties' contract administrators or their designees. All notices must be given to the parties' contract administrators respectively. The OAG's contract administrator is ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇, Chief, Bureau of Advocacy and Grants Management. The Provider’s contract administrator will be provided at the time of execution. The parties will provide each other with written notification of any change in its designated representative for this Agreement. Such changes do not require a formal written amendment to this Agreement.
