Common use of AIDS Policy Clause in Contracts

AIDS Policy. Individuals who have or are diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Viral Infection or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (“AIDS”), including those who are asymptomatic, are “handicapped“within the meaning of the Human Rights Code. While the Company has an obligation to provide a safe work envi- ronment for employees and safe delivery of services to its customers, it recognizes that individuals with or AIDS have a right to pursue those activities which their conditions allow. Employees with or AIDS will be treated in the same manner as employees with any other handicap as defined by the Human Rights Code. If their fitness for work is affected by or AIDS, the Company will make reasonable efforts to adjust work requirements to accommodate their particular needs. Any change relative to the following should be reported immediately to the Human Resources Department: Address Name Phone number Marital status Dependency status (taxes and insurance) Person to be notified in case of emergency Should an employee wish to view personnel file, contact the Human Resources Department to make arrangements.
