Amount of Reimbursement. Employees pursuing academic instruction will be reimbursed only for tuition and books according to the following schedule up to a maximum of $3,780 per fiscal year (this amount will be reexamined periodically and adjusted accordingly). No carryover payments into the next fiscal year will be allowed. Participation in the tuition reimbursement program in no way obligates the City to pay the entire cost of a degree program. A 100% B 100% C 50% D or lower 0% When courses are graded on a pass/fail system, a "pass" will be reimbursed in full and a "fail" will not receive any reimbursement. Reimbursement for any course which is largely comprised of material covered in a course previously taken by the employee and which was approved for reimbursement or otherwise funded by the City shall not be approved. The City is not obligated to reimburse any tuition if the employee resigns or is terminated prior to receiving reimbursement. An employee is expected to remain a full-time employee for one (1) year after course(s) completion, otherwise a pro-rated amount of the total reimbursed expenses during the last year shall be returned by the employee to the City.
