Application Date. In order to be eligible for the benefits of this Article XVI an employee must submit a written resignation and request for severance pay no later than March 1, preceding the end of the fiscal year in which the employee intends to retire. Any proration required by Section 7 hereof shall be made on the basis of applications as submitted by this March 1 deadline each fiscal year.
