Application Date. To be considered for sabbatical leave, a faculty member must submit in writing a notice of intent to apply for sabbatical leave to the Vice President of Academic Affairs no later than 5 p.m. on January 15 of the academic year immediately preceding the academic year for which sabbatical leave is requested, and an application for sabbatical leave must be submitted in writing to the Vice President of Academic Affairs no later than 5 p.m. on February 1 of such year. Should January 15 or February 1 fall on a weekend or holiday when the College is closed, these deadlines shall be moved forward to 5 p.m. on the first weekday when the College is not closed following January 15 or February 1. Such application will clearly state the purposes for which the leave is being requested, the precise period of time for which the leave is requested, the qualifications of the applicant to receive such a leave, and such other information as may be required by this leave provision. The Sabbatical Review Board may request additional information from any candidate for a sabbatical leave. If in the opinion of the Review Board the applicant still does not meet the criteria for awarding a sabbatical leave, the Sabbatical Review Board may by majority vote reject such applicants.
