Application Procedures. (a) Applications must be received by 1 March with appropriate deductions commencing the following September. (b) Applications shall specify the preferred financial arrangements and the school year in which the leave is requested. The year of leave shall commence no later than six (6) years after the date of the first deferral of salary. (c) Applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection by 1 May of the year of application. (d) Subject to the Layoff and Recall provisions of this collective agreement the employee remains under employment with the Board during the year of absence, but is free to pursue whatever activity is decided on by the employee.
