Common use of ARTICLE OVERTIME Clause in Contracts

ARTICLE OVERTIME. All authorized time worked in excess of regular hours in a work week or eight (8) hours per day in the regular work weeks set out in and above up to twelve (12) hours in a shift, will be paid at one and one-half (1%) times an employee’s regular hourly rate of pay. Where a shift exceeds twelve hours, double time will be paid for those hours worked in excess of twelve (12). Where an employee is required to work a seventh consecutive shift in a work week, will be paid at double their regular hourly rate of pay for each hour so worked.
