Chromebooks left unattended may be collected by staff and taken to the office. ● Woodmore Local Schools is not responsible for the safekeeping and protection of Chromebooks that have been checked out or assigned to students. A technology fee of $35 per year will cover the cost of the accidental damage and the provided carrying case. This fee will cover one accidental damage incident or accessory loss per year. This fee is not transferable or pro-rated and will be charged each school year. Repeated incidents of damage to the device will be assessed as follows: ● 1st Incident: covered ● 2nd Incident: $50 ● 3rd Incident: Full cost of damage ● Charger damage – If damage to the charger occurs due to normal wear and tear, rendering it useless, (the small wire tends to break down) one replacement will be given to the student during the school year. The bad charger must be returned to receive the replacement. Students needing additional replacements throughout the school year will incur a replacement charger. Those students on free/reduced lunches will not have to pay the $35 fee, but must “opt out” on the third damage incident. These students will have to check out a loaner Chromebook from the main office every morning and check it back in before they leave school for the remainder of the school year.
