Assistance in Assault Cases. Principals shall immediately report orally all cases of assault suffered by teachers in connection with their employment to the Superintendent and in writing within 24 hours. Whenever it is alleged that a teacher has assaulted a person or that a person has assaulted a teacher, the principal and Superintendent shall conduct an investigation of the incident. The Superintendent shall comply with any reasonable request from the teacher for relevant information in the Committee's possession not privileged under law concerning the person or persons involved, provided that the production of information does not interfere with investigation of the incident. The school department may indemnify teachers in accordance with the provisions of ▇.▇. ▇. 258, s. 9.
