Associate Lecturers. Clinical Associate Lecturers whose initial hires postdate the signing of this agreement or who are reappointed after a break of two or more semesters shall be paid a fixed per-course rate, not subject to cost-of-living or merit increases.
Associate Lecturers. Clinical Associate Lecturers 21.11.1 The title of Associate Lecturer or the title of Clinical Associate Lecturer in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences will be used in the following circumstances: i. Associate Lecturers/Clinical Associate Lecturers will normally be appointed at less than 50% FTE on an as-needed basis to temporarily replace faculty who are on leave or who have temporary or indefinite release from some teaching duties; to fulfill ii. Associate Lecturers/Clinical Associate Lecturers may be appointed at greater than 50% time to meet departmental instructional needs, whether upon original hire or upon reappointment, within the limitations placed by the provisions of 21.3 concerning “Additional Work for Part-Time NTT Faculty.” Temporary increases in FTE of this type will not result in a change in title or rate of pay. iii. In such case as an Associate Lecturer/Clinical Associate Lecturer has served at 50% FTE or higher for four consecutive semesters, his/her title shall be converted to Lecturer, and effective as of the start of the semester following that conversion he/she shall receive a salary increase to the applicable salary floor for Lecturers (unless his/her salary already exceeds that floor). The four semesters of continuous service at 50% or greater in the title of Associate Lecturer/Clinical Associate Lecturer that led to this conversion shall be counted toward the faculty member’s eligibility for continuing appointment. All service in the title of Associate Lecturer/Clinical Associate Lecturer shall be counted toward the converted faculty member’s eligibility for promotion to Senior Lecturer/Clinical Senior Lecturer, with the stipulation that an Associate Lecturer/Clinical Associate Lecturer converted to Lecturer/Clinical Lecturer shall not be eligible for the title of Senior Lecturer/Clinical Senior Lecturer without at least three years of full-time-equivalent service in the rank of Lecturer/Clinical Lecturer. 21.11.2 Associate Lecturers/Clinical Associate Lecturers shall be hired on single- semester contracts.
Associate Lecturers. (a) The duties of an Associate Lecturer are to: (i) perform assigned teaching duties with students, on and off campus, with a standard of planning, preparation, presentation and assessment as necessary for students to achieve unit and course learning outcomes; (ii) undertake scholarly activity relevant to their discipline and to learning and teaching; (iii) ensure compliance with TAFE Queensland and partner University systems and processes to document, evidence and report scholarly activity within expected timeframes; (iv) make an academic and professional contribution to the teaching program and service delivery of the discipline; (v) initiate formal or informal interactions with students and staff across the Campus and with other Campuses, other tertiary institutions, industrial and commercial organisations, professional groups and community/individual organisations. Formal interactions are those which are commercial in nature and must be sanctioned by the relevant ▇▇▇▇/Head as appropriate; (vi) work with support and direction from senior staff and managers and with an increasing degree of autonomy as the Associate Lecturer develops their skills and experience; (vii) prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, field excursions, and a variety of educational delivery modes; (viii) assist in the development of innovative curriculum and teaching pedagogies that utilise current and emerging industry based technologies for use in the classroom and placement settings; (ix) teach into discipline units as required; (x) undertake marking and assessment primarily connected with units in which the Associate Lecturer teaches; (xi) undertake administrative activities related to their program of teaching; (xii) actively contribute to cross disciplinary activities related to teaching, service delivery and placements; (xiii) effectively participate as a member of the discipline and broader discipline faculty teaching teams; (xiv) attend and participate in organisational unit meetings and/or hold membership of a limited number of committees; (xv) attend activities which support student recruitment; and (xvi) teach into Vocational Education and Training courses, where qualification and skills requirements are met. (b) The qualifications, skills and experience of an Associate Lecturer are: (i) possession of a qualification at least one level higher than is awarded for the course of study, or equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience a...

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Association Representatives Authorized representatives of the Association shall be permitted to transact Association business on and with school property at all reasonable times provided that such activities shall not interfere with normal school operations.

  • Alliance Managers Promptly following the Effective Date, each Party will designate an alliance manager to be reasonably available to the other Party to facilitate communication, respond to questions and otherwise oversee that the Parties’ activities hereunder are in line with this Agreement. Such alliance managers will regularly interact with each other on a frequency to be mutually agreed by the Parties and on an ad hoc basis if requested by the Joint Project Team or the Project Leaders. A Party may replace its alliance manager at any time by written notice to the other Party.

  • Itinerant Teachers 18.01 Itinerant teachers shall be paid a travel allowance in accordance with Article 50 of the Teachers’ Provincial Agreement. 18.02 Itinerant teachers shall be scheduled a lunch period of not less than thirty (30) minutes, exclusive of travel time between schools. 18.03 Except under extenuating circumstances, no itinerant teacher shall be responsible for work at more than three (3) schools in any one (1) school day.
