Common use of Association Responsibilities Clause in Contracts

Association Responsibilities. 1. The Association is responsible for submitting to the City Controller the agreed upon dues authorization notification and any changes in the amounts to be deducted from the employees’ pay checks. 2. The Association certifies to the City that it has adopted, implemented, and will maintain constitutionally acceptable procedures to enable bargaining Unit members to cancel their membership. 3. The Association certifies that it has and will maintain individual employee authorizations, but shall not be required to provide a copy of an individual authorization to the City unless a dispute arises about existence or terms of the authorization. The Association shall indemnify and hold harmless the City for any claims made by a bargaining Unit member for deductions made in reliance on that certification.
