Common use of ASSOCIATION RIGHT Clause in Contracts

ASSOCIATION RIGHT. No grievance, except a Step 1 grievance, may be settled unless the ASSOCIATION is afforded an opportunity to be present at any settlement conference, and provided that any settlement made shall not be inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement between the VILLAGE and the ASSOCIATION. It is acknowledged that the ASSOCIATION has the right to exercise its discretion to refuse to process an employee's unmeritorious grievance.
