Common use of Authorization of Work Clause in Contracts

Authorization of Work. 3.4.1. The Design Work shall commence on the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. Upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, Design Build Entity shall perform Design Development Work to design the Project, consistent with the Stipulated Sum. After Design Build Entity completes the Design Development Documents, and upon Judicial Council’s approval of Design Development Documents, Design Build Entity shall prepare Working Drawing Documents. 3.4.2. Reserved. 3.4.3. Any Work (including redesign or value engineering) performed by Design Build Entity to meet the Stipulated Sum shall be performed at Design Build Entity’s sole cost and expense. 3.4.4. During Design Build Entity’s performance of Design Work, Judicial Council may authorize the performance of Abatement & Demolition Work and/or Package I Construction Work prior to Judicial Council’s approval of Construction Drawings and final Specifications for those portions of the Construction Work for which all necessary approval from Authorities Having Jurisdiction has been received. Design Build Entity shall not, however, perform any Construction Work until it receives prior written authorization from Judicial Council Representative.
