Avoidance of overtime. The Employer has developed staffing 2 procedures and guidelines which minimize the need for nursing personnel to 3 work overtime shifts on a mandatory basis. Staffing procedures include 4 identification of staffing deficiencies as early as possible and the pursuit of non- 5 overtime available resources. Resources will be accessed in the following order: 6 a. Managers identify scheduling needs and available work 7 monthly in like units. 8 b. Float pool nurses, resource nurses and part-time nurses are 9 encouraged to fill holes. 10 c. Deficiencies in like units are reviewed twice weekly. 11 d. Centralized Staffing assigns nurses to float. 12 e. Volunteers are solicited from among those nurses at work. 13 f. Volunteers are solicited from among those nurses at home. 14 g. Volunteers are solicited for overtime assignments.
