Basis of Measurement. The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis except for certain financial instruments that are measured at fair value through profit or loss. The financial statements are prepared in United States Dollars (US$), rounded to the nearest Dollar, which is the functional currency of the Company and its subsidiaries and presentation currency of the Group. In preparing these financial statements, the significant judgements made by the Directors in applying the Company’s accounting policies and the key sources of estimation uncertainty are disclosed in note 3.
Basis of Measurement. These financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis as modified for revaluation of certain investments at market rates in accordance with the requirements of BSD Circular No. 10 dated July 13, 2004 as amended through BSD Circular No. 11 dated August 04, 2004 and BSD Circular No. 14 dated September 24, 2004. The financial statements are presented in Pakistan Rupees which is the Company's functional currency.

All orifice meter volumes shall be computed in accordance with ANSI/API 2530 Second Addition, published September, 1985, including the American Gas Association PAR Research Project NX-19 Manual, as revised from time to time. Where measurement is by other than orifice meters, all necessary factors for proper volume determination shall be applied. All orifice meter volumes shall be corrected for deviations from the ideal gas laws (supercompressibility) in accordance with the referenced ANSI/API 2530. Where displacement meters are used, the square of the orifice meter supercompressibility factor shall be applied. For the purpose of measurement, the atmospheric pressure shall be the actual average atmospheric pressure specified in this Agreement.

The Company's consolidated financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis except for the revaluation of certain financial assets and financial liabilities to fair value. The preparation of financial statements requires management to make judgments, estimates and assumptions that affect the application of policies and reported amounts of assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and various other factors that are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances, the results of which form the basis of making the judgments about carrying values of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources.
