Brief Description of Work. For and on behalf of the Food Corporation of India (herein called the ‘Corporation’) the General Manager, Food Corporation of India, ANDHRA PRADESH Region HYDERABAD, invites tenders forappointment of MULTIMODAL CONTRACT FOR TRANSPORTATION OF FOOD GRAINS FROM DESIGNATED DEPOTS OF KAKINADA TO DESIGNATED DEPOTS OF KERALA INCLUDING LOADING/ UNLOADING (STEVEDORING AND H&T) OPERATIONS AT KAKINADA AND COCHIN/ KOLLAM/Vizhinjam PORTS including the following services/clearances/ payment of charges and insurance. Note: Deep Water Port(KSPL) is the port of loading in case of Containerized movement if offered by the tenderer. However, the Tenderer should well acquainted with infrastructural facilities at the loading posts. a. Taking delivery of food grains in bags from Corporation at designated depots of Kakinada and deliver the same at designated depots of Kerala through Cochin port/ Kollam Port and obtain and produce acknowledgement from them in token of having received the entire quantity without any quality complaint loaded at designated depots in Kakinada. The quality delivered must be as at the time of loading, samples of which would be preserved with paper seal jointly signed by the transporter and FCI’s quality control officer supervising the of food grains at the time of loading. The operation includes taking delivery from designated depots of Kakinada to Kakinada Port, t he food grains bags are then loaded directly into the vessels or stacked at the K a k i n a d a port through the labor engaged by the Bidder. The H&T can also use Containers/Jumbo bags, if necessary, for shipment f r o m K a k i n a d a p o r t to Cochin port/ Kollam Port, Road movement from Cochin port/ Kollam Port/Vizhinjam port to d e s i g n a t e d d e p o t s o f K e r a l a R e g i o n 1.
