Common use of Building Secretaries Clause in Contracts

Building Secretaries. The normal workday is eight (8) hours per day which includes a one-half (1/2) hour duty-free unpaid lunch period. The normal work year is either ten and one-half (10 ½) or twelve (12) months. Those working ten and one-half (10 ½) months shall work one week prior to the teachers' school year and one week after the teachers’ school year. If a secretary is required to work beyond ten and one-half (10 ½) months, he or she will be paid at his or her hourly rate. If a secretary volunteers to work beyond the contractual ten and one-half (10 ½) year period, he or she will be paid at a rate to be determined by the District.
