Cancellation of Notes Clause Samples

The 'Cancellation of Notes' clause defines the process by which issued notes are rendered void and removed from circulation or further obligation. Typically, this clause outlines the circumstances under which notes may be cancelled, such as upon redemption, repayment, or if they are lost or destroyed, and details the administrative steps required to formally record the cancellation. Its core practical function is to ensure that once a note has been satisfied or is no longer valid, it cannot be mistakenly enforced or traded, thereby preventing duplication of liability and maintaining accurate records.
