Carry-Over and Conversion. Full time employees with at least 80 hours of sick leave will be offered the opportunity to convert up to 160 hours, over the 80 hour threshold, at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employees regular rate of pay, to be paid the first pay received in December. An employee not exercising this right will automatically have these hours carried forward. An employee shall be permitted to carry over accumulated sick leave up to 1040 hours. An employee upon separation, retirement or death shall convert accrued sick leave at the time of separation, at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employees' regular rate of pay. An employee who is discharged for cause will receive none of his sick leave.
