Casing. a. Sinking: Casing shall be driven vertically through earth or other materials to such depth below the surface of the ground as required to maintain the sides of bore holes or as directed by the Engineer. The blows per foot required for the penetration of the casing shall be recorded and included in the Contractor's drill record. Simultaneous washing and driving of the casing will not be permitted, except by order of the Engineer, and where so permitted, the elevations between where water was used in driving the casing must be recorded. It is the Contractor's responsibility when boulders or other obstacles are encountered to carry the drilling through or past such obstacles.
