Common use of Certification and Training Clause in Contracts

Certification and Training. Drivers must satisfy all certification and training requirements adopted by the State of Michigan and the Employer. Drivers must be certified and qualified to operate every vehicle (lift-bus, bus, and van), enabling a driver to take any route or shuttle. The Employer shall reimburse a bus driver for his/her CDL license renewal. However, if a driver is separated from employment within the lifetime of the license, vehicle group designation, or vehicle endorsement, for any reason except retirement or layoff, the driver shall have deducted from his/her final paycheck a pro rata share of the cost of the license, group designation, and/or endorsement based upon the number of years remaining on said license, group designation, or endorsement.
