Cessation of Litigation Clause Samples

The Cessation of Litigation clause requires the parties to halt any ongoing legal proceedings related to the subject matter of the agreement. In practice, this means that if either party has initiated a lawsuit or other formal dispute process, they must discontinue those actions once the agreement is in effect, often by filing a notice of dismissal or withdrawal. This clause ensures that all disputes are resolved through the terms of the agreement rather than through continued litigation, promoting finality and preventing duplicative or conflicting legal actions.
