Changes Permitted. 10.1.1 Changes in the Work within the general scope of this Contract, consisting of additions, deletions, revisions, or any combination thereof, including those that change the Contract Price or Contract Time, may be ordered by the Owner without invalidating this Contract, by Change Order or by Field Order. 10.1.2 Changes in the Work shall be performed under applicable provisions of this Contract and the Contractor shall proceed promptly with such changes. The Architect has no authority to authorize any additional or changed Work that would require a change in the Contract Price or Contract Time. 10.1.3 Contractor shall not be entitled to any adjustment in the Contract Price or Contract Time due to any alleged extra or changed work unless a Change Order, or a Field Directive (in the event the Owner and Contractor disagree as to the appropriate amount of a proposed Change Order), shall first have been signed and issued by the Owner. 10.1.4 If the Contractor proceeds with any extra or changed work without a signed Change Order or Field Directive (even if verbal approval has been obtained) by the Owner, Contractor shall be deemed to have waived any claim based upon such extra or changed work.
