CHECK OFF AND UNION MEMBERSHIP. 7.01 Neither the Employer nor the Union will compel employees to become members of the Union. The Employer will not discriminate against employees because of Union membership or lack thereof, and it will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship with the Union. All new employees shall be referred by the Employer to a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or a Union Representative in order to give the Union an opportunity to describe the Union, its purpose, representation policies, and any other information relevant to such new employees.
7.02 The Employer shall deduct from each pay of all employees covered by this Agreement, an amount of money equal to Union dues, and shall remit the same monthly to the Union office, not later than the fifteenth of the month following the month in which such dues are deducted.
7.03 The Union shall hold harmless, and agrees to indemnify the Employer, its successors, administrators and assigns against any liability incurred by each of them by reason of having made any deductions, remittances, or payments required by this Agreement.
7.04 The Employer shall remit dues on a form prescribed by the Union and shall include on such remittance the following information for each employee:
a. name;
b. rate of pay;
▇. ▇▇▇▇▇ earnings;
d. total regular and overtime hours worked in the month for which such deductions are made;
e. dues or fees deducted and remitted on behalf of the employee as may be prescribed by the Union; and
f. contributions on behalf of the employee and any deductions from and remitted for an employee as may be prescribed by this Agreement.
7.05 When the Employer hires new employees who are not members of the Union, the Employer shall also include on the next remittance, the following information of the employee involved:
a. address;
b. telephone;

7.02 Employees who, because of conscientious objection, as determined by the Union’s internal guidelines, cannot support the Union may apply to the Union in writing.
7.03 Any employee covered by this agreement may become a member of the Union if he wishes to do so and may refrain from becoming a member if he so desires.

6.04 The Union agrees that it will make membership in the Union available to all employees covered by this Agreement on the same terms and conditions as are applicable to other members of the Union.
CHECK OFF AND UNION MEMBERSHIP. 6.01 When an Employer hires new employees who are not members of the Union, that Employer shall inform the Union of the hiring of such employees within two (2) days of the date of hiring and shall furnish the Union with the following information for such employees:
a. name;
b. address;
▇. ▇▇▇▇ of birth; d. telephone;
e. family status;
f. date of hire;
g. occupation.
6.02 Each Employer shall remit employee deductions and Employer contributions, as the case may be, for union dues, fees, fund contributions and the like, to the Union, in a format prescribed by the Union. On such remittance the Employer will furnish the following information for each employee:
a. First name & last name;
b. rate of pay;
▇. ▇▇▇▇▇ earnings;
d. total regular and overtime hours worked in the period for which such deductions are made;
e. dues and fees deducted on behalf of the employee as prescribed by the Union; and,
f. contributions to Union funds on behalf of the employee and deductions from an employee toward Union funds as prescribed by this Agreement.
6.03 When an Employer hires a new employee, the Employer shall also include on the next remittance in addition to the information required in Articles 5 and 6, above, the following information employee information:
a. contact information, including home phone, cellphone, email and mailing address;
b. Social Insurance Number;
▇. ▇▇▇▇ of birth;
d. date of hire;
e. employment classification.
6.04 The total amount(s) deducted and contributed will be remitted by the Employer to the Union by the fifteenth (15th) day of each month following the month for which the monies were deducted and are owed. The Union and the employees agree that the Employer will be saved harmless for all deductions and payments so made.

CHECK OFF AND UNION MEMBERSHIP. 7.01 The Employer shall deduct from each employee, from the commencement of employment, an amount equal to Union dues as set by the National Convention of the Union and as continued within the Employer Dues Directive issued by the Union office. The Employer is authorized to deduct any administration fees owing by an employee to the Union when hired. The total amount(s) checked off and/or deducted on behalf of the Union will be turned over by the Employer to the Union by the fifteenth (15th) day of each month following the month for which the monies were deducted, together with an itemized list of the employees for whom the deductions are made and the amount turned over for each.
7.02 Employees who cannot support the Union with their dues for reasons of conscience, as determined by the Union’s internal guidelines of what constitutes as conscientious objection, may apply to the Union, in writing, to have their dues re-directed. Such application shall outline the nature of the conscientious objection.
7.03 Any employee covered by this agreement may become a member of the Union if he wishes to do so and may refrain from becoming a member if he so desires.

The Employer is also authorized to deduct any administration dues owed to the Union by an employee upon hire.

7.03 The Union and the employees agree that the Employer will be saved harmless for all deductions and payments so made.
7.04 The Employer shall remit dues electronically, on a form prescribed by the Union and shall include on such remittance the following information for each employee:
a. first, middle and last name;
b. work location/job site;
c. rate of hourly pay;
d. any hourly premiums;

f. total regular and overtime hours worked in the month for which such deductions are made. (If an employee earned both 1½ and double time overtime premiums, these hours shall be recorded separately);
g. dues deducted and remitted on behalf of the employee as may be prescribed by the Union;
h. contributions on behalf of the employees and any deductions from and remitted for an employee as may be prescribed by this Agreement.
i. Social Insurance Number; and,
j. date of birth;
7.05 When the Employer hires a new employee, the Employer shall also include on the next remittance, the following information:
a. complete mailing address;
b. e-mail address;
c. primary telephone;
d. date of hire;
e. classification, including trade certificate number and apprenticeship level or year;
7.06 The Employer shall also record on a remittance any of the following changes in employment status;
a. Change in classification, level or apprenticeship year; or
b. Job end date (for temporary, or permanent separation).
7.07 All contributions and deductions pursuant to this Agreement (i.e. Health and Welfare Plan, Pension Plan, Education and Training Fund, and Industry Fund) shall be remitted together with and in the manner described for Union dues, as set out here in Article 7.
