Common use of Check-Off Procedure Clause in Contracts

Check-Off Procedure. Each teacher shall authorize in writing the deduction of Association dues, or the agency service fee, as the case may be, within thirty (30) days following the beginning of the school year. Teacher authorizations for the deduction of Association dues, or for the payment of the agency service fee, shall identify the teacher, the amount of each deduction, the period for which deductions are to be made, and be signed by such teacher. The Board shall deduct the authorized amount due from each teacher’s pay and transmit the total deductions to the Treasurer of the Association within fifteen (15) days following such deduction together with a listing of each teacher for whom deductions were made. The Board shall use its best efforts to make the aforesaid deductions in the manner set forth but assumes no responsibility for any errors in making such deductions other than to correct such errors. In the event of overpayment, the Association agrees to refund moneys within twenty (20) days.
