The 'Clearance of the Site' clause requires the contractor to remove all equipment, materials, debris, and temporary structures from the construction site upon completion of the work. In practice, this means the contractor must ensure the site is left in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, often restoring it to its original state or as specified in the contract. This clause ensures that the site is ready for its intended use after construction, preventing disputes over leftover materials or hazards and facilitating a smooth handover to the client.
Clearance of the Site. During the provision of the Works, and as a pre-condition to the issue of the Taking- Over Certificate, the Contractor shall clear away and remove from the Site, all Contractor's equipment, surplus material, wreckage, rubbish and temporary Works, and shall keep the Site free from all unnecessary obstructions, and shall not store or dispose of any Contractor's equipment or surplus materials on the Site.
