Common use of Co-operation on Safety Clause in Contracts

Co-operation on Safety. The Union and the Employer recognize that occupational health and safety is a shared concern and they will cooperate in promoting and improving rules, training and practices that will enhance the work environment for all employees. Notwithstanding the above, the parties recognize the Employer’s responsibility to ensure, insofar as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all the Employer’s employees. Additionally, the parties recognize the employees’ responsibility to take reasonable care to protect their health and safety and the health and safety of the students and other employees who may be reasonably affected by their acts or omissions.
