Common use of Collaborative Meetings Clause in Contracts

Collaborative Meetings. The parties recognize that collaborative meetings are desirable but that they shall not be held merely for the purpose of information dissemination which could effectively be achieved through posted notices, e-mails or handouts. Collaborative meetings shall be scheduled on Wednesdays for up to one hour. Such meetings shall be collaborative in nature and may include data team meetings, team meetings, grade level meetings, RTI, and other school related issues. An agenda for the meeting listing the subject matter to be discussed shall be emailed to staff 48 hours before the scheduled meeting. Cancellations shall be noticed via email 48 hours in advance, except in cases of emergency. When a teacher has a commitment, which antedates the notice or is of a serious nature, relief should be sought from the meeting through the immediate supervisor, which relief shall not be unreasonably denied. Collaborative meetings may only be recorded upon agreement between the appropriate administrator and the Union.
