Common use of Communication of Results Clause in Contracts

Communication of Results. Unsuccessful applicants to a competition be notified in writing of the name of the successful applicant within days of acceptance of the position. Notices of competitions will not normally be posted in the following instances: positions to be filled by new graduates or trainees; positions to be filled by Bargaining Unit members returning from outside assignments; assignments of a specified duration not to exceed months; where a vacancy is created as a result of an internal competition, the Company may fill the vacancy through internal transfer or through hiring from outside, without posting, provided the Company first informs the Union of its intention; in cases of potential redundancy. Should other circumstances arise which could make posting inappropriate, the Company and Union will determine appropriate action.
