Common use of COMMUNICATIONS FORUM Clause in Contracts

COMMUNICATIONS FORUM. A. Regular meetings between the Board and the Union shall be scheduled and convened to discuss matters of mutual concern. Specific grievances shall not be discussed, nor shall the meetings be considered bargaining sessions. Moreover, matters pertaining to or affecting the wages, hours, or terms and conditions of employment of bargaining unit members, and matters pertaining to the terms of this Agreement, shall not be addressed in these meetings. Meetings shall be scheduled on a mutually convenient date and time, but will be conducted not less than quarterly. Committee meetings are not intended to replace informal communications between the Board and the Union and/or their representatives. B. A committee consisting of six (6) representatives shall constitute the Board Committee. A committee consisting of six (6) members of the bargaining unit shall constitute the Union Committee. C. The Board shall arrange for training of all committee members in collaborative problem solving. Bargaining unit members will be released from their regular duties for this training but will not receive additional compensation for the additional personal time required for these sessions.
