Common use of Completion of Evaluation Clause in Contracts

Completion of Evaluation. Process Each completed evaluation shall result in the assignment of one of the following evaluation ratings to the teacher: Accomplished, Skilled, Developing, or Ineffective. a. The summative evaluation of a teacher shall be equally based upon student growth measures and individual teacher performance that is assessed during the walkthroughs and observations. The evaluation shall acknowledge the performance strengths of the teacher evaluated as well as performance deficiencies, if any. The evaluator shall sign the evaluation report. The evaluation report should then be signed by the teacher to verify notification of the teacher that the evaluation will be placed on file, but the teacher's signature shall not be construed as evidence that the teacher agrees with the contents of the evaluation report. The evaluation report shall be completed by May 10, signed by both parties, a copy provided to the teacher and a copy sent to the Superintendent. b. The Board shall evaluate each teacher who received a summative rating of accomplished on the teacher’s most recent evaluation conducted under this section once every three (3) school years, so long as the teacher's student academic growth measure, for the most recent school year for which data is available, is average or higher, as determined by the Ohio Department of Education. The Board shall evaluate each teacher who received a summative rating of skilled on the teacher’s most recent evaluation conducted under this section once every two (2) school years, so long as the teacher's student academic growth measure, for the most recent school year for which data is available, is average or higher, as determined by the Ohio Department of Education and the teacher’s rating on the performance assessment is either accomplished or skilled. In those cases, an observation and post-observation meeting shall be completed by the first day of May of the applicable school year, and the teacher shall receive a written report of the results of the evaluation by the tenth day of May of that school year. c. In the event that extenuating conditions (approved extended leaves of absence) prevent the completion of two (2) Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) or linkage of value-added data, the teacher will receive 50 (fifty) percent shared attribution from the district’s value added data. This does not apply to teachers who fail to complete their SLOs for unapproved reasons. Failure to complete an SLO will result in assigning the lowest allowed rating for each incomplete item. d. The district shall submit the final summative rating of teacher effectiveness to the Ohio Department of Education by May 30th or as required by law. e. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the timelines present in this article may be modified by mutual agreement with the President of the Association and the Board of Education or its representative.

The evaluation report should then be signed by the teacher to verify notification of the teacher that the evaluation will be placed on file, but the teacher's ’s signature shall not be construed as evidence that the teacher agrees with the contents of the evaluation report. The evaluation report shall be completed by May 10, signed by both parties, a copy provided to the teacher and a copy sent to the Superintendent. b. 2. The Board shall may evaluate each teacher who received a summative rating of accomplished on the teacher’s most recent evaluation conducted under this section once every three (3) school years, years so long as the teacher's student academic teacher submits a self-directed professional growth measureplan to the evaluator that focuses on specific areas identified in the observations and evaluation, for and the most recent school year for which data evaluator determines that the teacher is available, is average or higher, as determined by making progress on the Ohio Department of Educationplan. 3. The Board shall may evaluate each teacher who received a summative rating of skilled on the teacher’s most recent evaluation conducted under this section once every two (2) school years, so long as the teacher's student academic teacher and evaluator jointly develop a professional growth measure, plan for the most recent teacher that focuses on specific areas identified in the observations and evaluation, and the evaluator determines that the teacher is making progress on that plan 4. The Board may elect not to conduct an evaluation of a teacher who meets one of the following requirements: a. The teacher was on leave from the school year district for which data is available, is average fifty percent (50%) or highermore of the school year, as determined calculated by the Ohio Department Board. b. The teacher has submitted notice of Education retirement and that notice has been accepted by the teacher’s rating on the performance assessment is either accomplished or skilled. In those cases, an observation and post-observation meeting shall be completed by Board not later than the first day of May December of the applicable school year, and the teacher shall receive a written report of the results of year in which the evaluation by the tenth day of May of that school yearis otherwise scheduled to be conducted. c. In The teacher is participating in a teacher residency program under R.C. 3319.223 for the event year during which that extenuating conditions (approved extended leaves of absence) prevent teacher takes, for the completion of two (2) Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) or linkage of value-added datafirst time, the teacher will receive 50 (fifty) percent shared attribution from the district’s value added data. This does not apply to teachers who fail to complete their SLOs for unapproved reasons. Failure to complete an SLO will result in assigning the lowest allowed rating for each incomplete item. d. The district shall submit the final summative rating of teacher effectiveness to the Ohio Department of Education by May 30th or as required by law. e. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the timelines present in this article may be modified by mutual agreement with the President at least half of the Association and performance-based assessment prescribed by the State Board of Education or its representativefor resident educators.
