Computation of Distance. (a) Applicable calls are rated on the basis of airline mileage locations of the caller and the called party, regardless of the call's routing. (b) Airline mileage is obtained by using the "V" and "H" coordinates assigned to each point. To determine the airlines distance between any two cities, the airline mileage is determined as follows: 1. Obtain the "V" and "H" coordinates for each city. 2. Obtain the difference between the "V" coordinates of each of the cities. Obtain the difference between the "H" coordinates. 3. Square each difference obtained in step 2, above. 4. Add the square of the "V" difference and the "H" difference obtained in step 3, above. 5. Divide the number obtained in step 4 by 10. Round to the next higher whole number if any fraction is obtained. 6. Obtain the square root of the whole number obtained in step 5 above. Round to the next higher whole number if any fraction is obtained. This is the airline mileage.
