Conditions of Tenure. The purpose of the system of tenure is the protection of academic freedom. It remains incumbent upon the member to maintain and improve professional competence, professional growth, and the excellence which occasioned the grant of tenure to the member. To that end, evaluations shall be an integral part of the promotion process, and maintenance and improvement of professional competence, growth, and excellence.
