Continuous Service. The length of service by an employee which includes periods of authorized paid leaves. An employee who terminates and is re- employed within thirty (30) days or who is laid off and re-employed or re-called within one (1) year from the date of the layoff shall have his/her continuous service date adjusted by the time between termination and re-employment. All benefits based on length of service shall be computed on the basis of continuous service, except as may be otherwise specified on step increases and longevity (if applicable).
