Contract Documents & Hierarchy Clause Samples

The contract documents hierarchy clause establishes the order of precedence among the various documents that make up a contract. In practice, this clause specifies which document will prevail if there are inconsistencies or conflicts between the terms of, for example, the main agreement, appendices, specifications, or drawings. By clearly defining which document takes priority, the clause ensures that any ambiguities or contradictions can be resolved efficiently, thereby reducing the risk of disputes and ensuring all parties have a clear understanding of their obligations.
