CONTROL OF MATERIALS. 4-1 Materials and Workmanship 4-1.01 General The Contractor shall furnish all materials required to complete the Work, except materials that are designated in the Special Provisions to be furnished by the City. Notwithstanding any prior inspection or approval, only materials conforming to the requirements of the Special Provisions shall be incorporated in the work. The materials furnished and used shall be new, except as may specifically be provided elsewhere in the Plans and these Special Provisions. The materials shall be manufactured, handled, and used in a workmanlike manner to insure completed work in accordance with the Plans and Special Provisions. When requested, the Contractor shall furnish the City Engineer a list of his sources of materials. The list shall be furnished to the City Engineer in sufficient time to permit proper inspecting and testing of materials to be furnished from such listed sources in advance of their use. The Contractor shall furnish without charge such samples as may be required. Inspection and tests will be made and reports rendered, as required by the City Engineer, but it is understood that such inspections and tests in no way shall be considered as a guarantee of acceptance of any material which may be delivered later for incorporation in the work.
