Coordinating Benefits - Avoidance of Duplicate Wages. Whenever a request for sick leave is approved, the employee who was absent from employment and whose request for sick leave was approved shall receive, as sick leave payment, a sum equal to the difference between his/her regular wage and any amounts payable to such employee as time loss compensation under the provisions of the Washington State Industrial Insurance Act, as the same now exists or is hereafter amended, for such time as he or she was absent from employment. No sick leave payment will be paid for any absence from employment in excess of the accumulated sick leave of the employee.
