Dark Fiber Loop. 2.8.6.1 Dark Fiber Loop is an unused optical transmission facility, without attached signal regeneration, multiplexing, aggregation or other electronics, from the demarcation point at an End User’s premises to the End User’s serving wire center. Dark Fiber Loops may be strands of optical fiber existing in aerial or underground structure. BellSouth will not provide line terminating elements, regeneration or other electronics necessary for Deland Actel to utilize Dark Fiber Loops. 2.8.6.2 If Dark Fiber Loop is not readily available but can be made available through routine network modifications, as defined by the FCC, Deland Actel may request BellSouth to perform such routine network modifications. The request may not be used to place fiber. Each request will be handled as a project on an individual case basis. BellSouth will provide a price quote for the request, and upon receipt of payment by Deland Actel, BellSouth shall perform the routine network modifications.
