Data Universal Numbering System. All applicant organizations must obtain a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number. A DUNS number is a unique nine-digit identification number provided by Dun & ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (D&B). It will be used as the Universal Identifier when applying for federal awards or cooperative agreements. The applicant organization may request a DUNS number by telephone at ▇-▇▇▇-▇▇▇-▇▇▇▇ (toll free) or internet at http:// fedgov.dnb. com/ webform/ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇.
