DEDUCTION OF FEDERATION DUES. 1. The Company will provide for the deduction of regular Federation dues (as appropriately certified to the Company by the Federation) from an employee's pay and will make remittance to the Federation bi weekly by cheque payable to the Federation for the amount deducted for the previous week. The manner in which the Company will inform the Federation of the deductions of weekly dues will be agreed upon locally. a) All employees who, on the effective date of this Agreement, were paying the regular amount of Federation dues will continue to pay such dues while in the bargaining unit. b) As a condition of employment, all persons becoming employed in a bargaining unit covered by this Agreement will be required within thirty days of such employment to pay the regular amount of Federation dues as provided for in Section 1, above. 3. The amount of dues appropriately certified to the Company from time to time will be deducted from each weekly pay including vacation pays; if an employee does not receive a pay in any week or weeks there will not be a deduction made in any succeeding week to cover the week or weeks which have been so missed. 4. It is understood and agreed that the Federation will save the Company harmless from any and all claims which may be made against it by any employee for amounts deducted from wages as herein provided. 5. Dues deduction information will continue to be supplied to Federation members on their annual T4 slips from Payroll. An annual summary of this information will also continue to be supplied to the Federation. Should this procedure become redundant then the Company is prepared to provide the Federation with a weekly list of employee names from whom dues are deducted.
