DEDUCTIONS FROM SALARY. 3.1 4.1 The District Board agrees to deduct from the salary of its employees dues for the Atlantic City Education Association, the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations, the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association as said employees individually and voluntarily authorize the Board to deduct. Such deductions shall be made in compliance with Chapter 233, NJ. Public Laws of 1969 (N.J.S.A. 52:14.15.9 (e)) and under rules established by the State Department of Education. Said monies together with current records of any corrections shall be transmitted to such person as may from time to time be designated by the Atlantic City Education Association following the monthly pay periods in which deductions were made. The person designated shall disburse such monies to the appropriate association or associations. 4.2 Each of the Associations named above shall certify to the Board, in writing, the current rate of its membership dues. Any association which shall change the rate of its membership dues shall give the Board written notice prior to the effective date of such change. 4.3 For the purposes of all employees, after discussion between the Board and the Association, the Board may deduct from affected employees' salaries money as said employees individually and voluntarily authorize the Board to deduct and transmit the monies promptly to such association or associations. The fair share fee for services rendered by the Lodge shall be in accordance with such reasonable rules an amount equal to the regular membership dues, initiation fees and regulations assessments of the District as may be Lodge, less the cost of benefits financed through the dues and available only to members of the Lodge, but in no event shall the fee exceed eighty-five (85%) percent of the regular membership dues, fees and assessments. I. The sum representing the fair share fee shall not reflect the costs of financial support of political causes or candidates, except to the extent that it is necessary for the exercise Lodge to engage in lobbying activity designed to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ its policy goals in collective negotiations and contract administration, and to secure for the employees it represents advances in wages, hours and other conditions of employment which ordinarily cannot be secured through collective negotiations with the Township. J. Prior to January 1 and July 31 of each year, the Lodge shall provide advance written notice to the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, the Township and to all employees within the unit, the information necessary to compute the fair share fee for services enumerated above. K. The Lodge shall establish and maintain a procedure whereby any employee can challenge the assessment as computed by the Lodge. This appeal procedure shall in no way involve the Township or require the Township to take any action other than to hold the fee in escrow pending resolution of the District's authority appeal. L. The Lodge shall indemnify, defend and responsibility under this Article. No such deduction demands, suits, or other forms of liability that shall be made until 30 days following receipt arise out of or by reason of action taken by the District of the designation Township in reliance upon salary deduction authorization cards as furnished by the Association provided for in this Article. 3.3 The District shall be saved harmless from any liability arising from to the Township, or in connection with any deductions from salary made pursuant to this Article. 3.4 The District shall make available payroll deduction for NYSUT member benefit programs for all bargaining unit members. The deduction reliance upon the official notification on the letterhead of the Association and signed by the president of the Association advising of such specified amount shall be made in equal installments beginning with the first pay period. Such deductions will be made in a timely fashion as soon after each pay period as is possiblechanged deduction. 4.1 Sick Leave
