Defective Work/Correction. Rejected workmanship shall be satisfactorily corrected by Contractor and rejected material shall be satisfactorily replaced with proper material by the Contractor, each without charge therefor, and the Contractor shall promptly segregate and remove the rejected material from the premises. Upon failure or neglect by the Contractor to promptly prosecute or perform the Work in accordance with the Contract or to make corrections to the Work as required by the City Representative, the City may, without prejudice to any other remedy it may have, complete the Work and/or correct the deficiencies and then deduct the actual cost thereof from payment which is then or thereafter due to the Contractor.
