Common use of Differential Leave Clause in Contracts

Differential Leave. If a teacher has utilized all of his or her accumulated sick leave and is still absent from his or her duties on account of illness or accident for a period of five (5) school months or less, then the amount of salary deducted in any month shall not exceed the sum which would have been paid a substitute (differential). The five months or less period during which the above deductions occur shall not begin until all other paid sick leave provisions for which he or she is eligible have been exhausted.
