Drilling and Blasting. All work of drilling, ▇▇▇▇ hammering and blasting. ▇▇▇▇▇ Tender: Distribution of all materials used by a brick ▇▇▇▇▇ by any method including distribution by motorized wheelbarrows, power pulleys, walk along forklift trucks, forklifts, all terrain forklifts, skid-steer loaders, skid-steer type tract loaders, or other machines of similar or like characteristics, whether driven by gas, diesel, or electric power, including the hooking on and signaling for the same, shall be the work of qualified laborers. This includes brick, mortar, tile, block, stone, ringing signal bells on elevator hoists. The covering, hanging, placing tarps, visqueen or any other material for the purpose of protection or other purposes, shall be the work of the laborers. The erection, dismantling and maintenance of all scaffolding regardless of height shall be the work of the Laborers. The pouring, puddling, and vibrating of all masonry walls, with concrete vermiculite, sand, insulation or any other materials shall be the work of qualified Laborers.
Drilling and Blasting. The Contractor shall complete the drilling and blasting in an aggregate amount of 1.40 MBCM (the “Agreed Target of the Drilling and Blasting Work ”), on or before the Time for Completion.
Drilling and Blasting. Due to the small floor area of the vertical pit and the fact that withdrawing the earthmoving, drilling, pumping and wetcreting equipment from the pit prior to each blast was not practically feasible, much emphasis was placed on the blast design and the type of explosives used in order to avoid damaging the vertical pit sidewalls or in-pit equipment. An additional difficulty arose sourcing suitable explosives and importing them into the country. AEL Ghana was the only supplier able to provide the required explosives and accessories. Working in conjunction with AEL’s blasting experts and with input from SRK Consulting, an optimal blast design was found for the vertical pit. AEL’s initial blast design involved the use of 45 mm and 54 mm diameter holes. These diameters were based on a bench height of between 2 m and 3 m, which was limited in attempts to minimize damage to the pit walls. However, due to logistical and operational reasons, the mine standardized on 76 mm diameter for both anchor and production holes. In view of the sequencing and support parameters, a 3.2 m bench height, with a 1.5 m x
Drilling and Blasting. Drilling and blasting of Waste and Ore material in accordance with Exhibit D; Contractor shall maintain a size distribution in the blasted Ore material suitable for gold extraction through the heap ▇▇▇▇▇ process. Contractor shall provide adequate and safe access to Owner's personnel for purposes of sampling the drill cuttings to determine optimal Ore / Waste boundaries. Due to the proximity of the Mine to the town of Cerro de San ▇▇▇▇▇ and to the historic church of San ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, Contractor shall coordinate closely with Owner to carefully monitor blasting. Crushed stone for stemming shall be used, if required, to minimize fly-rock, and to improve fragmentation of the Ore material. To enhance the performance of the heap ▇▇▇▇▇ process, the size distribution of Ore material shall have a maximum dimension of 900 mm. Peak particle velocity at the church shall be limited to 0.5 ft/sec, (which is the UNITED STATES BUREAU OF MINES standard for old construction). Monitor points, installed and monitored by Owner, shall include the dome and corners of the foundation of the San ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ church, as well as strategic points to be determined by Owner within the town of Cerro de San ▇▇▇▇▇. This may require the use of decking and/or smaller holes in the area close to the town. Exact blasting parameters to be followed by Contractor will be based on test blasting and/or initial operating experience.
