Educational Increment. 1. Effective the first (1st) teacher work day of the new school year, each teacher shall be granted the educational increment for which he/she qualifies (see Paragraph 4.g below) for all steps as noted in the applicable Salary Schedule Appendix. 2. An increment is defined as sixteen (16) semester hours of credit. 3. Credit hours that apply are: a. Undergraduate course credits that have been taken to meet the definition of Highly Qualified Teacher under ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) or credit that have been given prior approval by the Executive Director of Human Resources; b.
